Desktop browsers
For most web browsers, you can use a short cut to clear your browser history:
- for Windows, use Ctrl + Shift + Delete, and
- for Mac, use Command-Shift-Delete.
If this doesn’t work, look for instructions for your browser in the list below.
If your browser isn’t listed, search in its Help menu for ‘clear browser history’ or ‘clear cache’.
If you can’t find your browser version, choose About from the Help menu or the browser menu. In Internet Explorer and Firefox, press Alt to show the menu bar.
Chrome
Follow the instructions at Delete your Chrome browsing history, then close all browser windows and reopen Chrome.
Firefox
Follow the instructions at Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox, then close all browser windows and reopen Firefox.
Safari
Follow the instructions at Clear your browsing history in Safari on Mac, then quit and reopen Safari.
Microsoft Edge
Follow the instructions at View and delete browser history in Microsoft Edge, then close all browser windows and reopen Edge.
Internet Explorer
Follow the instructions at View and delete your browsing history in Internet Explorer, then close all browser windows and reopen Internet Explorer.
Opera

Mobile browsers
On Android devices
How to clear your cache, cookies and history changes depends on your Android model and the browser you use. You should be able to clear your cache and data by following these steps:
- Go to Settings.
- Choose Apps or Application Manager.
- In the lists of installed apps, choose your web browser. Select Clear Data, then Clear Cache.
- Close all browser windows and reopen the browser.
Chrome for Android

Chrome for Apple
Follow the instructions at Delete your Chrome browsing history, then close all browser windows and reopen Chrome.
Safari for Apple
